Sustainability & Resilience Master Plan Discussion
This event will feature the Executive Council of UNL’s Chancellor’s Commission on Environment, Sustainability and Resilience, to discuss UNL’s first-ever sustainability and resilience master plan. The panelists will start with the history of sustainability at UNL, then discuss highlights of the master plan, the process of designing the plan, and, finally, lessons learned from the process. This candid conversation is designed to answer any questions the UNL and wider Nebraska community might have regarding participating and/or establishing something similar in their organizations. You can read the draft master plan here: https://sustainability.unl.edu/

The Intersections of Climate Change
Join the Office of Sustainability as we explore the intersections of climate change and systemic racism. Learn the history of systemic racism in the United States & the environmental movement’s exclusion of marginalized voices. Through conversation with UNL students who have firsthand experience living with and organizing around these issues we will paint a picture of how intersectional advocacy and solutions can create positive change on our campus and in our communities.
We will kick off the event with a short video sharing the story of the North Omaha coal plant and how the community came together to shut it down. Followed by an interactive panel discussion.
