Food for health through the gut microbiome: How will we get there?
A growing body of science supports the idea that gut microbes can be manipulated through diet for better health – both for healthy individuals and those with diagnosed conditions. But in a practical sense, how will we create these foods and make them accessible to individuals who will benefit? Join Dr. Andy Benson, director of the Nebraska Food for Health Center, along with six scientific and industry experts, for an overview of what we need to make ‘food for health’ a reality. Hear a panel of experts describing the state-of-the-art in six areas—preventing disease, treating disease, growing food for health, formulating foods for health, commercial development and regulatory frameworks—including the gaps that currently exist and how they might be addressed in the future. The session will include a dynamic Q&A session, providing the opportunity for audience members to ask questions of the panelists.
