Undergraduate Research Assistant Opportunity: Investigating the Molecular Basis Underlying Regulation of Plant Immunity by Ubiquitination
Our laboratory is currently seeking a highly motivated undergraduate student to join our research project focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms governing plant immunity. This project involves study of targeting components of the plant endosomal sorting complex required for transportation (ESCRT)-I by ubiquitination to better understand their role in regulating plant defense against bacterial infection.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
•
Prepare media for bacterial cell culture.
•
Maintain plants in a growth chamber.
•
Conduct plant bacterial growth assays.
•
Perform various molecular biology experiments, including gene expression analysis using real-time PCR and gene cloning.
•
Learn and apply techniques in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, and plant pathology.
Requirements:
•
Enthusiastic and self-motivated undergraduate student.
•
Junior or senior undergraduate student with prior experience in undergraduate research is preferred.
•
Strong interest in plant biology, molecular mechanisms, and/or biotechnology.
