This intensive Spanish course will prepare you and give you the language skills to work as a professional in a wide range of medical and health-related settings. The course will lay the groundwork that you will need in order to grow and enhance the skills necessary to translate and to become an interpreter or to work with interpreters. You will gain confidence, fluency, and amore comprehensive understanding of cultures and how they play into health-related decisions and influence communication inside and outside of the medical field. This course is relevant to students with interests in pre-health, community/family wellness, addiction, and medical/health humanities. The daily immersion will provide you with the unique opportunity for extensive practice, and the class can include experiential/community-based opportunities for engagement.
