For more advanced students, consider studying abroad in Montpellier, in southern France, just minutes away from the Mediterranean coast. The program, administered by the University of Minnesota, offers both summer sessions and semester-long courses of study. Besides a home stay, internships, and excursions, you can take courses alongside French students and receive credit for required courses for the French major/minor. Gain the most useful credit while enjoying a youthful city with centuries of history.
Please note that to receive transfer credit for a summer class as a language course (i.e. 201, 203, 303 etc.) you must do a homestay. The homestay will give you practice speaking French. Without a homestay, summer courses will be transferred as cultural credit.
