Connect with a CAS career coach to explore your career options, identify ways to gain experience, and prepare to apply for internships, jobs, or graduate schools. They can help with resumes, application materials, interviewing, and more. CAS career coaches support your career development no matter where you are or where you’re going. Schedule with your coach on Student Success Hub, attend a drop-in meeting any Wednesday or Thursday 1-3pm, and follow the Career Coaches on Instagram for tips, resources, and great job and internship opportunities for CAS majors!

Career Coaching Drop-ins are every Wednesday and Thursday, 1-3pm. Visit with a career coach to have your resume reviewed or ask other career-related questions. No appointment needed! Available via Zoom.


CAS will be hosting alum John Rood for a Lunch & Learn session, and 1:1 office hours where students can chat to get career advice. John has a long career in media and marketing, and has held several roles at Disney and Warner Bros. in his extensive career. He is eager to help support students and advise them on careers in media and communications, as well as job searching/networking to establish themselves out in the NY or LA areas.

    • Join CAS for a free lunch and hear from Husker Alum John Rood about his journey from majoring in speech communication to working for the Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. and more! Register and learn more about John Rood.

  • Teach for America: Organization Info Session, April 8, via Handshake – “Ask Me Anything” event to find out how seasoned professionals leveraged their Teach of America experience to launch their careers.
  • The Washington D.C. Professional Enrichment Academy Program with University of Nebraska Public Policy Center (DCPEA) is accepting applications until Apr. 15th. DCPEA is a free, value-added program that meets once a week in the evening and connects students interning in D.C. with prominent D.C. alumni and each other.
  • Funding available for summer internships or research – Do you need additional funding to help support your participation in your summer research or internship experience? Apply to the CAS Experiential Learning fund. This fund is designed to help cover additional costs that you incur as a result of your experience (moving to another state, professional clothing, conference fees, etc.) Apply here by April 15.
  • Enroll in internship or research experiential learning courses this summer – If you’ve already lined up an internship or research experience for the summer, enroll in one of our courses to document it on your transcript, and participate in some meaningful reflection activities with a career coach. These courses will also satisfy your Experiential Learning requirement! To get started, fill out the appropriate form for internship or research.
  • Mayo Clinic: Careers in Lab Medicine, April 15, via Handshake - Explore the diverse paths within the Mayo Clinic laboratories and chart your course towards a fulfilling career.
  • Apply to Access Coach Position with College Possible - Omaha, College Possible is a national nonprofit dedicated to making college admission and success possible for students from underrepresented backgrounds. The Omaha office is hiring 20 recent college graduates as Access Coaches who will be guiding high school students through the college application and financial aid process. A detailed job description and communication template are attached.
