Korff Kast Extra, an off shoot of Korff Kast (the podcast of the Glenn Korff School of Music) is being released today and features student Alex Chapman.

Chapman shares his thoughts about what brought him to UNL, why he chose the bass, what the semester has been like with the COVID restrictions (including the upcoming Symphony Orchestra performance), about his upcoming solo recital, what his summer was like, including his time in Minneapolis, and the most important take away from it all.

Chapman is a senior at the University of Nebraska studying double bass performance and biological sciences. Although not from Nebraska, Alex committed to the Glenn Korff School of Music on scholarship after being encouraged to pursue his passions in music by his hometown music mentors in Rapid City, South Dakota. Since arriving on campus, Alex has stayed active in and out of the classroom - serving as a member in various branches of the student body government, helping to found the Hate Will Never Win campaign, working as a resident assistant, and participating in Husker Dialogues as a facilitator and keynote speaker are just some of the ways he's managed to stay busy outside of music.

After graduation, Alex is excited to travel home to spend the holidays with his family and to begin preparations for medical school applications. He hopes to move to New York with his girlfriend Abby (a Glenn Korff alumnus) after the pandemic subsides.
