The month of May concludes classes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as well as the Spring performance slate at the Glenn Korff School of Music.

Campus Bands, Thursday, May 1, 7:30 p.m., Kimball Recital Hall
The UNL Campus Bands will present an evening of wind music in a concert entitled Nteractions. The Donald A. Lentz Concert Band will present works spanning 5 centuries by Iwai, Schoendorff, Smith, Standridge, Susato, and Ticheli while the Jack R. Snider Concert Band performs the music of Boysen, Del Tredici, Fillmore, Gilbert, Jordan, and Persichetti. The bands are directed by Assistant Director of Bands, Douglas W. Musical Theater Review, Friday, May 2, 7:30 p.m., Westbrook Music Building
LOVE & LAUGHTER: An exciting mini-celebration of musical comedy duets performed and narrated by eight talented graduate and undergraduate students, featuring Levi Larson at the piano. Directed by UNL's Coordinator of Musical Theatre Studies, Alisa Belflower, this evening of musical theatre features some of the most celebrated duets written for the stage. Come join in the laughter and the heart-warming fun of musical comedy. This performance will feature 5 musical theatre scenes and run approximately 45 minutes. A dose of joy to lighten your spirit is just what the doctor ordered for the final Friday of classes in UNL's spring semester!
Symphony Orchestra, Friday, May 2, 7:30 p.m., Kimball Recital Hall
The UNL Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Tyler Goodrich White, and the University Women's Chorale, under the direction of Therees Tkach Hibbard, will perform a concert of music by English composers in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. Featured on the program are Gustav Holst's epic suite The Planets, and Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor. Gregory Beaver, cellist with the Chiara String Quartet, Ensemble-in-Residence in the Glenn Korff School of Music at UNL, will be soloist for the Elgar. Rounding out the program is Vaughan Williams's Overture to The Wasps. General Admission $5; Students/Seniors $3
Big Red Singers, Sunday, May 4, 3 p.m., Kimball Recital Hall
Big Red Singers will be performing a high-energy show, with arrangements of nine popular and less-known songs. We will feature talented soloists, exciting choreography by April James, Ben Eklund, and our own Daylan Fargo. Complemented by an outstanding cadre of twenty instrumentalists, we will create a musical evening you won't soon forget. General Admission $5; Students/Seniors $3
