UNL Symphonic Band presents “A Song of the Body”

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Symphonic Band, conducted by Tony Falcone, presents its program A Song of the Body on Tuesday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

The concert will feature works by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Warren Benson, Robert Russell Bennett, Norman Dello Joio and Shelley Hanson. Also on the program are a guest appearance by Graduate Teaching Assistant conductor A.J. Burgess and special guest artist Dr. Neal Corwell, euphonium soloist, performing the World Premiere of the Band version of his own composition, Come to the Edge.

The Symphonic Band, directed by Anthony Falcone, has the distinction of being the band program’s top symphonic ensemble. Its select mission is to provide instrumentalists with an opportunity to demonstrate and develop the techniques and musical instincts appropriate to a symphonic setting.
