EngineerGirl & EngineerTeen Writing Contest
EngineerGirl & EngineerTeen Writing Contest

Feeling creative? Check out the EngineerGirl & EngineerTeen Writing Contest! They are seeking art and complementary writing submissions from students in Grades 3-12 to express how engineers create a better world!

Engineering and art may seem like an unlikely combination, but they actually have a similar design process. Through this contest, students will engage with a design procedure that is similar to engineering. Along with the artwork, a written artist's statement should also be included that explains how the piece connects to the contribution engineers make to our world.

Students who enter get the chance of wining the top prize of $1,000 and their artwork displayed as the background of the EngineerGirl website! Submissions are due Feb. 1, 2026. The contest is open to students in Grades 3-12 and has three competition categories:

  • Elementary School Students (3-5)
  • Middle School Students (6-8)
  • High School Students (9-12)
Whether your students submit or not, EngineerGirl hopes this competition will inspire teachers to engage students in creativity when learning about engineering. Teachers are encouraged to use the contest flyer to share information with their classes and send home to guardians!
