The Summer 2026 Nebraska Agriculture and Science Education Leadership Institute is a professional development and leadership opportunity for Nebraska K-5 educators to experience Nebraska agriculture and learn how to use agricultural phenomena to bring standards to life in a classroom. Applications are due May 30.

What participants will experience

  • Immersive experience from June 17-18 in Hastings, Nebraska
  • Field trips to local farms and agriculture industries
  • Collaboration with agriculture industry experts and fellow educators
  • Integration of Nebraska-specific agricultural connections into classroom curriculum

Eligibility requirements
  • Current Nebraska elementary school agriculture teacher
  • Commitment to attend virtual preparation activities prior to the event (details forthcoming) and immersive
    experience
  • Interest in teaching agriculture-focused curriculum

  • Financial compensation of $150/day
  • Professional development experience with industry professionals
  • Writer’s workshop (optional): June 18
