Earn your graduate certificate in as little as two summers and an academic year!

Required core courses (nine credit hours)

  • PHYS 8230: Physical Science Education Methods (three credits, online, fall)
  • PHYS 8960: Topics in the Teaching of Natural Science (three credits, online, spring)
  • PHYS 8310: Introduction to Modeling for Physical Science (three
    credits, in person, Summer Session 1)

Elective courses (nine additional credit hours)
  • PHYS 8410: Modeling Mechanics (three credits, odd years)
  • PHYS 8710: Modeling Electricity and Magnetism (three credits, even years)
  • PHYS 8610: Modeling Instruction in Thermodynamics and Quantum (three credits)
  • PHYS 8320: Modeling Astronomy (three credits)

These courses are offered as intensive summer courses and emphasize immersive engagement with modeling instruction applied to specific physical science content areas. Each course can be taken either in person or synchronously online.
