Professor Alison B. Flynn from the University of Ottawa will be giving a seminar entitled "A New Organic Chemistry Curriculum: Arrows and Mechanics Then Chemical Principles" Friday, Jan. 22 at 3:30 p.m. in 112 Hamilton Hall.
Flynn is a rising star in the chemical education research community. Her work is mostly centered on organic chemistry but she is approaching it from various angles that cut across disciplines. She has developed online interactive tools, studied flipped classrooms, developed a workshop to help students transition to the university successfully, and completely revamped the organic curriculum at Ottawa.
