The University of Nebraska College of Engineering is excited to announce its annual Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Nebraska state conference, “STEMulate Nebraska” on Monday, Feb. 27, at the Nebraska Innovation Campus. We invite you to attend.

• Increase the awareness of workforce development needs of the United States in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) related fields.
• Provide knowledge about the PLTW program, its activity-problem-based teaching styles and the benefits to students.
• Provide in-depth professional development to existing PLTW teachers and schools.
• Foster discussions and connections between the K-12 community, University, and Industry on STEM education.
• Increase awareness of the need for STEM literacy among our citizens, and for promoting critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration skills via activity-problem-based hands-on learning in K-12.

The schedule will include:
• 16 plus breakout sessions on general PLTW information, teacher development, partnerships and industry connections, and more.
• Tours of Innovation Campus and Innovation Studio (maker space)

• David Dimmet, Senior VP and Chief Engagement Officer, Project Lead The Way
• Dr. Carmen Zafft, Professor, Engineering Leadership, UNL, “What is the Complete Engineer?”

Teachers, counselors, administrators / industry representatives / school district representatives looking for strategies to enhance their current STEM curriculum / government officials concerned with K-12 STEM education / university faculty, staff, and students
