Mark your calendars! The 2018 UNL Women in Science Conference for high school students will be held April 6-7. Registration will open in January.

The 20th Annual Women in Science Conference will be held at The Graduate Hotel in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. Sponsored by Nebraska EPSCoR and the UNL Center for Science, Mathematics and Computer Education, this two-day event brings high school girls from across Nebraska and the Midwest region to the UNL campus to explore their interests in science careers. Women in Science is for students who want to interact with career and academic professional women in science, meet current female science students and other high school girls who are interested in science, and discover countless professions as diverse as biologists, geologists, engineers, food scientists, computer scientists, and those in the medical fields.

The 2018 keynote speaker is Dayana Patera, M.D., of Nebraska Internal Medicine, PC. Dr. Dayana Patera was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She graduated from the University Central of Venezuela in 2005.
