
The Chemical Engineering Secondary Education STEM Workshop will be held June 27, 2019, in downtown Lincoln. This one-day workshop will give secondary educators insight into how chemical engineering problems are approached and solved by applying math and science principles.
*Benefits of Attending*
Educators attending the workshop will:
• Receive resources and activities that can easily be incorporated into existing curriculum demonstrating how math, chemistry, and physics are used to analyze and solve engineering problems
• Learn how chemical engineers are working to solve some of the greatest challenges facing our society today
*Intended Audience*
New and experienced math, physics, and chemistry teachers for high-school level courses.
Workshop Facilitators: The faculty from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering will facilitate the workshop.
Date & Location: The workshop will be held on June 27, 2019, at Othmer Hall in Lincoln, NE (820 N 16th St) on city campus from 9 am to 4 pm; lunch will be provided.
Participants are invited to attend an optional complimentary dinner afterword in downtown Lincoln that will include a brewery tour emphasizing the chemical engineering aspects of brewing.
