
Don’t waste money by going off campus for health care when many basic services at the University Health Center are already covered by your student fees.
If you are taking at least one on-campus credit hour, you can access the following health center services for no additional charge.
- Five telehealth and/or in person office visits with a medical or Travel Clinic provider every academic year: An office visit is an appointment where you discuss a medical concern with a health care provider. There are charges for physicals, preventive exams, prescriptions, immunizations, most lab services, X-rays, procedures, physical therapy, specialty care, etc.
- Flu shots: The health center usually begins offering flu shots around Oct. 1. More details about how to get your free flu shot will be shared in the coming weeks.
- Doctor-ordered chlamydia, gonorrhea and HIV testing: To get a doctor’s order, call 402-472-5000 and follow the options to speak nurse about your desire to be tested. In some cases, you may need to meet with a health care provider to get a doctor’s order.
- Doctor-ordered wellness profiles: This blood draw gives you a snapshot of your health and detects possible problems. Talk to your health care provider about getting a doctor’s order for a wellness profile.
- First nutrition counseling visit: Meet with our registered dietitian to learn nutritional tools to help you live a happier, healthier and longer life. Learn more about nutrition counseling services.
Services that are not covered by student fees have a charge, which can be submitted to private insurance or paid out of pocket at a discount. Financial assistance is available through Nebraska Medicine to those who qualify.
