Jan. 24–28 is the semester's first "Nonprofit in Residence" at the Nebraska Union, hosted by Student Leadership, Involvement, & Community Engagement.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, Huskers should visit to chat with a different local non-profit to learn about their industries, internships and volunteer opportunities.

You can find the organization set up near the N-Card Office on the Union's first floor.

NE Coalition to End Sexual & Domestic Violence


The Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence enhances safety and justice by changing the beliefs and behaviors, and dismantling the systems that perpetuate sexual and domestic violence, human trafficking, stalking, and other forms of violence.

Volunteer opportunities available: Volunteer opportunities exist to help with administrative work, assist with planning special events and serve on committees and boards.

Educare Lincoln


Educare's mission is to establish a high-quality, one-stop community learning center for at-risk children and families; implementing specialized learning environments, which develop children academically and socially, empowering them to become productive members of society through research and evidence-based practices.

Volunteer opportunities available: Educare Lincoln is an Early Childhood School for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age. At Educare, students can sign up to volunteer and assist with infant room, admin support and writing birthday cards for youth.

Bridges to Hope provides basic household furnishings, clothing and personal hygiene products at no cost to the men and women we serve.

Volunteer opportunities available: Volunteer opportunities are available to sort donations, organize the warehouse, assist with developing marketing materials and host fundraising efforts.

Serve Nebraska - Americorps


Uniting Americans together to tackle some of the most challenging issues that face our communities while building leadership, professional development and earning benefits like a living allowance and an education award.

Volunteer opportunities available: Apply to serve as an Americorps member and perform indirect service at a local nonprofit in Nebraska. Americorp members earn a stipend and educational award ($6,345).
