ASUN's Freshman Campus Leadership Associates and NRHH's Leadership Retreat get new Huskers involved in leadership positions on campus, both in their first year and in the coming years. The deadlines for the programs are in the first week of September - here are the details you need to apply.

Freshman Campus Leadership Associates (FCLA)
ASUN Student Government

FCLA is a highly selective group of 24 first-year students that serve as the freshmen representation in ASUN Student Government. Associates work closely with members of their cohort, ASUN executives, and university administration to make tangible change on campus. The group meets once a week on Wednesday evenings and has multiple retreats each year.

Through the programs, first-year Huskers gain:

  • connections to university administration, faculty, staff, and students.
  • further involvement in ASUN Student Government.
  • participation in large-scale university programming events.
  • project management and problem-solving skills.
  • university, local, and state student advocacy skills.
  • a supportive environment to pursue interests on campus.

Leadership Retreat
National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)

NRHH is an organization composed of student leaders in the residence halls. These outstanding individuals contribute large amounts of time and effort in order to better the lives of the student residents living in the halls.

Join a FREE all-day jam-packed retreat enjoying the highs and lows at UNL's Challenge Course and other activities.
The event is 8 to 5 p.m. September 17.

In addition to the activities, participants get valuable insights into effective leadership with sessions topics:
  • being an advocate on campus.
  • effective communication within teams.
  • hosting events on campus
  • how to effectively work with others.

Open to any student residing in a residence hall. Space is limited to 100 individuals and priority is given to those interested in getting involved in hall government.
