The largest college lifestyle festival in the Midwest returns to UNL for its eighth year Jan. 23-24. Held at the UNL Campus Recreation Center, GET REC'd showcases more than 45 vendors and includes free food, prizes and giveaways.
Participants can try out the latest products and technology, and experience sights and sounds from local and national companies, donate blood to support the Red Cross, and be an #ActiveHusker! Those attending can also enter to win more than $10,000 in prizes. The two-day festival takes places 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and attracts more than 10,000 UNL students, faculty, staff and supporters. Admission is free and open to the public.

Contests
The Ultimate Road Trip Challenge brings together 10 teams of two in fierce competition to win the grand prize, an all-expenses-paid, Spring Break California Surfing Adventure. The competition will take place Friday, Jan. 24 of GET REC'd and those interested in participating can sign up on the GET REC'd website (http://www.getrecd.com/contests.php). The competition consists of nine rounds of high-level games sponsored by Celerion, Nebraska Army National Guard, Raising Cane's, U.S. Cellular and Sun Valley Lanes. The ten-day trip is provided courtesy of UNL Campus Recreation and Outdoor Adventures and winners will also receive $500 spending cash courtesy of the University of Nebraska Federal Credit Union. Participants must register in teams of two and all contestants must be current UNL students. Those under 19 must have a parent/guardian's signature in order to attend the trip. The entry deadline is Tuesday, Jan. 21.
GET REC'd hosts several other competitive contests including Husker Fan Challenge presented by Nebraska Athletics, PEPSI Olympics presented by LINPEPCO, The Great College Chop Off! (based off of the hit television show Chopped!) and our newest contest "Can You Go the Distance?". Most contests include prizes for first, second and third place, including an iPad, an exclusive Husker Tunnel Walk Experience, memorabilia, gift certificates and more. Contestants should be present at the stage at the time of the contest to participate.
