Box.com accounts at UNL now offer free, unlimited storage for all UNL students, faculty and staff. The previous storage quota of 50 gigabytes per account was eliminated via a new contract arrangement through Internet2 Net+ services. All higher ed institutions who contract Box through Internet2 now have unlimited storage.

“Leveraging cloud services and collaborative purchasing allows Nebraska to provide the best IT services,” said Mark Askren, chief information officer and vice chancellor of information technology. “Box is one example of a service in which our students, faculty and researchers can collaborate easily and securely.”

“We’re very excited to announce this new capacity for Box at UNL,” says Eric Haffey, ITS client services coordinator. “Box offers secure sharing and storage from anywhere, using any device.”

Box accounts were first introduced at UNL in May, 2014. Currently there are over 6,300 users at UNL, storing more than 23 terabytes of data.
