Inside Out is a Disney animated film that takes a whole new approach on the emotions that control the everyday interactions of people. This movie features a star-studded vocal cast featuring the likes of Amy Poehler from Parks and Rec, Phyllis Smith from The Office, and Bill Hader from Saturday Night Live, amongst countless others. Inside out shares a story about the life of Riley, a young Midwestern girl who moves with her family to San Francisco. The story follows her and the emotions that control and interact with her surroundings and one another in everyday life. They are Joy, Riley’s leading and most vocal emotion voiced by Amy Poehler, Fear (voiced by Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions work together within the mind of Riley at a place known as headquarters, a control center for all things Riley. Here they decipher and respond to the same new chapter that Riley faces as she starts a new life in San Francisco. Inside Out highlights the disagreement and interactions between a person’s five emotions as they reveal the villain of inner struggle that all audiences can relate to and appreciate.
