UNL Campus Recreation is offering "Bike and Dine," a series of weekly rides to help students, faculty and staff explore local eateries after a leisurely bike ride through community trails and side streets.
All locations are in Lincoln and provide an opportunity for riders of all skill levels to become familiar with biking in the community. The free series starts Sept. 16 with a ride that ends at The Isles Pizza in the historic Havelock neighborhood.
Anyone interested in participating must meet at the Campus Rec Center's Outdoor Adventures area prior to the 3 p.m. start time of each guided ride. Other dates and destinations in the series are: Sept. 23, 9 South Chargrill; Sept. 30, Grateful Bread; Oct. 7, Buster's BBQ; and Oct. 14, La Paz Mexican Restaurant.
Bike and Dine Rides officially end upon arrival at the restaurant. Participants are responsible for their own return trip. Participants should bring cash for food and drinks. Riders can bring their own bike, helmet and lock or can rent bikes and gear from the UNL Bike Shop for a small fee. There is no need to pre-register.
