The Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes (NMSSI) offer graduate mathematics and pedagogy courses in just one or two weeks to help you earn graduate credit hours at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln conveniently and affordably.
This summer, MATH 896/803P: Algebraic Thinking in the Elementary Classroom will be offered in Fremont from July 15-19, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Class # 11450, Section # 961). The course will be taught by Edie Ronhovde, the math department chair at Fremont Middle School. She is a Math in the Middle graduate and a Noyce Master Teacher at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
To make the NMSSI professional development opportunities more affordable, UNL has agreed to offer tuition discounts to Nebraska teachers who take our summer courses. Nebraska teachers automatically qualify for a Tuition Fellowship (20% of in-state tuition) for these graduate courses.
Teachers can also apply for a $300 fellowship from the NMSSI to help cover the tuition cost. Apply here: https://cse.unl.edu/scimath/apps/apply.php.
All NMSSI courses also include a free lunch on each day of class.
