GEOS 898: Exploring the Geology of our Solar System
GEOS 898: Exploring the Geology of our Solar System

Date Changes for Science Courses | $400 Fellowships Available until May 20

Tuition fellowships worth $300 or $400 are available until Monday, May 20, to help pay for courses for science teachers through the Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes (NMSSI) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln this summer. We have awarded more than 175 fellowships to Nebraska teachers and have around 30 more to give.

Teachers interested in taking CHEM 898: Matter Matters: Chemistry, Society and Popular Culture; GEOS 898: Geology of North America; or GEOS 898: Exploring the Geology of Solar System are eligible to receive $400 fellowships. There are a limited number of these fellowships available so you must apply by midnight on Monday, May 20 (first-come, first-serve basis for $400 fellowships and $300 after those are gone). Apply at: https://cse.unl.edu/scimath/apps/apply.php. Completing this application and registering for the class are all you have to do to take advantage of this opportunity!

All current Nebraska mathematics teachers also automatically qualify for a 20 percent reduction in the cost of tuition. These fellowships and discounts can lower the cost of a course to $450-$550!

We would like to bring your attention to some changes in the dates for two of the science courses:
• CHEM 898: Matter Matters: Chemistry, Society and Popular Culture (Class #3268, Sec # 591) is now June 3-7, and
• CSCE 890: Introduction to Robotics for Teachers is now July 29-August 2 (Class # 11638, Sec # 691) as well as June 3-7 (Class # 11637, Sec # 391).

Take a look at our course catalog to view course descriptions (CSCE 890 is listed under math) http://scimath.unl.edu/nmssi/2013/coursecatalog.php?typecode=S&grade=&region= or click on the story below.
