Four math graduate courses for K-8 teachers coming to Omaha area

Thanks to the NebraskaMATH OPS Teacher Leader Academy, funded by the Sherwood and Lozier foundations, OPS elementary and middle-level teachers of math and science have a unique opportunity to pursue graduate education at no cost to them! We want to bring to your attention to three mathematics classes and one pedagogy course in the Omaha area for K-8 teachers.

TEAC 892: Manipulatives in Mathematics Education (Class # 4007), June 19-23, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools in Ashland, Nebraska

Math 804P: Problem Solving & Critical Thinking for Elementary Teachers (Class # 3230), June 26-30, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Omaha

Math 800T: Math as a Second Language (Class # 3020), July 10-14, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Omaha

Math 803P: Algebraic Thinking for the Elementary Classroom (Class # 3336), July 24-28, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Omaha

Sherwood-Lozier Fellowships make it possible for OPS teachers to take these courses at no cost for tuition or fees. Lunch will be provided for participants. These courses count toward a master’s degree from UNL.

All NMSSI courses listed in our online course catalog are eligible for Sherwood-Lozier Fellowships: http://scimath.unl.edu/nmssi/2017
