Two elementary math graduate courses coming to Omaha

Take a graduate course in just one week for face-to-face instruction with small class sizes through the Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes (NMSSI): http://scimath.unl.edu/nmssi. NMSSI graduate courses in mathematics and mathematics pedagogy allow you to take advantage of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's professional development opportunities conveniently and affordably.

We want to bring your attention to two mathematics courses for elementary teachers that are being offered in the Omaha area in Summer 2019:

Math 803P: Algebraic Thinking for the Elementary Classroom (Class # 3204), July 8-12, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., UNO Durham Science Center, instructor: Michael Matthews, UNO

TEAC 890: Responsive Instruction in the Mathematics Classroom (Class # 9101), July 15-19, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., TAC Career Center Room 361, 3215 Cuming St, Omaha, instructor: Matt Timm, OPS

To enroll in UNL graduate courses in the NMSSI, follow the steps outlined on the website. This year we are offering 25 math and science courses across the state and online to meet your professional development needs. For all in-person NMSSI courses, current Nebraska teachers automatically qualify for a tuition reduction equal to 20 percent of in-state, graduate tuition. Additionally, Nebraska K-12 teachers can apply for supplemental NMSSI Fellowships to further defray tuition costs for NMSSI courses. The Benefits of the NMSSI:
• Nebraska teachers automatically qualify for a 20 percent discount on in-state tuition at UNL

• Each course is worth 3 graduate credit hours at UNL
