Omniarts Nebraska Presents: "Top Girls"

PRODUCTION TO RUN November 13, 14, 15 at 7:30pm, November 17 at 2:00pm, at the Johnny Carson Theater at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Marlene has been promoted to managing director of a London employment agency and is celebrating. The symbolic luncheon is attended by women in legend or history who offer perspectives on maternity and ambition. In a time warp, these ladies are also her co-workers, clients, and relatives. Marlene, like her famous guests, has had to pay a price to ascend from humble roots to the executive suite: she has become, figuratively speaking, a male oppressor, and even coaches female clients on adopting odious male traits.

Top Girls features an all-female cast including Erin Mundus as “Marlene,” Maribel Cruz, Shawnee Johns, Sophia Delaney, Jillian Carter, Katy Morehouse, Allison Mollenkamp, and Elizabeth Govaerts. The production is directed by Jessie Porter. Audience members may remember Jessie for the many roles she has performed as an actor, but this is her directing debut with OmniArts. The stage manager/technical director is Dustin Witte. Original graphic art for the production is by Danny Reneau.

Top Girls offers a blistering yet sympathetic look at women who achieve success by adopting the worst traits of self-made men. Top Girls is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., a Concord Theatricals Company. This production contains mature content.
