Our spring show is "The Pirates of Penzance Broadway Senior," a hilarious farce by Gilbert and Sullivan that follows young Frederic, an orphan mistakenly apprenticed to an ineffectual but raucous band of pirates.
No piratical singing or dancing experience, you say? OLLI is all about learning something new and having fun—what better way than by playing pirates.
Adults age 50 and older are welcome to audition. No prior theatre experience is necessary to audition and no memorization is needed to perform.
Prepare 16-32 measures (no longer than two minutes) of your favorite song for the audition, but not from “Pirates of Penzance,” and bring sheet music. If you think you do not sing well enough to audition, sing something simple like “Happy Birthday.” Some sheet music will be available. Piano accompaniment will be provided.
