SciPop Talk to explore comic book physics

Dan Claes, chair and professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, will host the university's next SciPop Talk at 7 p.m. March 6 in Love Library South, Room 221.

The free and public lecture, "Comic Book Physics: Marvel, DC and Metallurgy," will examine the science behind fictional elements Adamantium, Kryptonium, Nth Metal and Vibranium and the existence of super materials.

Nebraska's SciPop Talks! series facilitates the intersection of science and popular culture. These talks are co-sponsored by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln University Libraries, Chemistry Department and Physics Department, Doane University, and the Nebraska Local Section of the American Chemical Society.
