Tickets reservations for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNL and the Lincoln Community Playhouse production of “Carol Burnett Classics” begins Monday, March 25. The show, the 12th production of the OLLI Radio Active Players, is a collection of the best sketches from the Carol Burnett television variety show. It promises to keep you in stitches.

What started out as a one-time class in the spring of 2011 for older adults interested in theatre has grown into a vibrant, active senior theatre group known as the OLLI/Playhouse Radio Active Players. Under the direction of Morrie Enders, Lincoln Community Playhouse executive director, the Radio Active Players have performed a broad variety of theatre productions. From the first production of a Jack Benny radio show to last spring’s performance of “Singing in the Rain, Sr.” the Radio Active Players have been filling the LCP house every year.

In 1967, when CBS television began running “The Carol Burnett Show,” Burnett had already been a popular veteran of television. The show ran on CBS from 1967 to 1978, for 279 episodes and again with nine episodes in the fall of 1991. Today, you can watch syndicated episodes of "Carol Burnett and Friends" on ME-TV.
