The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has launched a new summer session website to provide resources for students interested in taking courses to broaden their career skills, explore a new topic, catch up or get ahead on their degree requirements during the summer term. Information on tuition, scholarship and financial aid options and registration is also available on the website.
Even as we approach a second summer with many internships, education abroad programs and other experiences affected by the pandemic, there are a lot of opportunities for students to stay engaged in their educational journey.
A sampling of the many courses being offered this summer are categorized by topic: career and research skills, discipline-specific, solving grand challenges and degree completion. Among the opportunities available, students can:
- Enhance their communication skills to help achieve maximum effectiveness on the job.
- Explore how machine learning can be applied to game playing, data mining, robotics and more.
- Learn about the Nutrition and Health Sciences major and whether it's the right fit for them.
- Explore the psychology of music and how it influences social and cultural dynamics.
- Take advantage of a special opportunity to explore their Clifton Strengths.
- Examine the relationship between the media and social constructions of race and gender.
- Learn about the cultural, economic, ethical and environmental implications of chocolate.
- Study the history and theory of design as it relates to political, economic and societal shifts.
70 courses are featured on the website, and a complete course listing is available in MyRED by selecting the "Summer 2021" term and searching by date using the "Session" drop-down list.
In addition to general course offerings, the new virtual and in-person global experiences offered by Education Abroad are also featured.
