Although peak flu activity occurs during the cold winter months, you can still catch the flu all the way through May. If you haven’t gotten your shot yet, it’s not too late to get one.
Flu season spans from October through May, so getting a flu shot now can still provide you with some protection. Getting vaccinated can help reduce the risk of you getting influenza, and if you do happen to get the flu, the vaccine can make symptoms less severe.
Remember, you only need one flu shot per season! If you had a flu shot during the Fall 2023 semester, you won’t need another shot until next flu season.
If you still need to get your flu shot for this season, call 402.472.5000 to schedule with the University Health Center. All UNL students can receive a flu shot at no cost at the health center.
