Free flu shots from the University Health Center make it convenient for students to protect against the flu.

Free flu shots are now available for your University of Nebraska-Lincoln student at Nebraska Medicine – University Health Center.

The easiest way for your student to receive their free shot is to attend a UHC rapid walk-in clinic, offered Oct. 3, 5, 10 and 12, 19 and 20 from 9 to 11 a.m. in room 158 of the Health Center. UHC will continue to schedule walk-in clinics throughout the semester. Check the Health Center website later this month for additional dates and times.

Although students can also receive their shot by appointment, UHC recommends students attend a walk-in clinic as it is the fastest and most convenient option.

Your student must bring their NCard and a completed flu shot form with them to the walk-in clinic or appointment.

Students 18 or younger are only allowed to receive a flu shot at UHC with parental permission. There are two options:
• Fill out, have notarized and send UHC a Power of Attorney form. If you have already submitted this form, another submission is not required.
-OR-
• UHC will call you at the time your student is receiving a shot at UHC for verbal consent. This is applicable for both walk-in clinics and appointments.

UHC will be giving FLUARIX Quadrivalent vaccines, which protect against four different flu viruses. Before your student receives the shot, it is recommended you read the influenza vaccine information statement for more information.
