The Explore Center is excited to announce that Major Exploration week will be Tuesday, Oct. 3 – Thursday, Oct. 5! During Major Exploration Week, we will have three opportunities to explore majors, the Major Exploration Event (happening twice) and the University Majors Fairs. If your student is undecided or interested in exploring other majors or minors please share our events with them!
The Major Exploration Event will happen twice, Tuesday, Oct 3 from 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. both in the Nebraska Union. Students will get the opportunity to hear from previous undecided students during an Undecided Student Panel. The panel will share their experiences about being undecided and give advice and tips for exploring students. Next, students will be able to select from a variety of major exploration workshops. Topics of these sessions range from how to choose a major, connecting majors to career and assessing their skills and interests. This will allow students to personalize their major exploration experience for what fits them best.
The University Majors Fair on Oct. 5 from 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. in the City Union Plaza is designed to help students explore options for academic majors through conversations with staff from each of the UNL colleges. We invite you to share this event with your student if they are looking for another major or exploring minors. This is an opportunity to gather information in a relaxed, fun setting. All students are welcome to attend, and we look forward to having all UNL colleges represented at this year’s fair.
