July NDA Requirements Presentation-Open to all Educators

The Nebraska Department of Agriculture’s Tim Creger has graciously agreed to give a presentation that will share information about the changes our state is implementing in its pesticide safety certification program. The presentation will highlight how these changes will be incorporated over the next three years. Tim will share background information about why the changes were necessary and compare the previous applicator certification requirements with the new ones. This will include a discussion about provisions of the old program that have been eliminated, as well as those that have not been changed at all. The NDA will also share their plan for announcing and implementing the program’s changes. This presentation will take place on July 28th at 2:00pm.
The NDA has been an outstanding partner and resource for Extension as we navigate the transition to the new certification plan. Since the EPA first finalized its new requirements in 2017, Tim and his office have been there every step of the way, providing a wealth of updates, guidance, and insight into what is happening and how best to move forward. This presentation highlights their dedication to our shared mission of educating Nebraskans on the safe and effective use of pesticides. We highly encourage attendance to the presentation but it is not required. This event will take place via Zoom and will be recorded and shared with all Educators involved with pesticide safety training. We also look forward to continue providing updates from the NDA in this monthly newsletter.
