Need a weekend getaway? Spend time with friends, meet new people, learn new skills, and enjoy the outdoors! The Outdoor Adventures Center has four weekend trips this semester that will ensure you an adventurous weekend.
NIOBRARA RIVER PADDLING
4/6-4/8
$95 for UNL Students | $125 for the General Public
Paddle one of the top ten most scenic floats in America on this weekend trip down the Niobrara River. We will take our time paddling down the river and exploring the area's waterfalls. You can't find a better alternative for your weekend than great conversation, scenery and gourmet meals around the campfire on this overnight paddling trip.
OVERNIGHT BIKE TOUR
4/7-4/8
$35 for UNL Students | $45 for the General Public
This tour will equip you with the basic skills needed to plan your own cycling adventures. The zero-emissions trip departs from the Outdoor Adventures Center and takes riders along a crushed limestone trail to one of Nebraska's tranquil state recreation areas. We'll carry all our food and camping gear on our bikes on this truly self-contained overnight ride.
MICRO ADVENTURE: OVERNIGHT BIKE CAMPING
4/12-4/13
$35 for UNL Students | $45 for the General Public
Head out on a quick ride to a nearby park for an evening of camping before heading back in time for your morning classes. We'll carry all of our food and camping gear on our bikes on this self-contained overnight ride.
BLUE MOUNDS WEEKEND CLIMBING
4/13-4/15
$95 for UNL Students | $125 for the General Public
Along the Minnesota and South Dakota border, Blue Mounds and Palisades State Parks house quality outdoor climbing just four hours from Lincoln. With 50-60 foot climbs, the Sioux Quartzite offers challenges for new climbers and veterans alike. This is an excellent way to enjoy the great outdoors for a weekend and challenge yourself outside the climbing gym!
All trips include on-site food, necessary gear, trip guide, transportation, and camping fees/permits.
No experience is required, just come prepared to have a good time!
