University Career Services is seeking undergraduate students from all majors to be Peer Career Guides for the 2018-19 academic year. No on-campus job can better prepare you to navigate your own career launch than helping Nebraska students apply to jobs and internships.

Benefits
Peer Career Guides work on campus and build professional skills in:
· Build professional skills in effective communication, problem solving and collaborating with others.
· Expand your network among professional staff, students from across campus and potential employers

Peer Career Guides also expand their network among:
· University Career Services professional staff
· Other student leaders on campus
· Potential employers

The Role
Peer Career Guides make a difference for other students while building professional skills by:
· Teaching how to write effective resumes and cover letters
· Presenting job/internship search resources
· Introducing career development steps and activities

Responsibilities
1. Conducting one-on-one resume and letter reviews in our office and at booths across campus.
2. Assist Nebraska students with job search resources including Husker Hire Link.
3. Present to student groups on University Career Services and job search-related topics.
4. Promote University Career Services resources, services and events.
5. Support activities related to career fairs and student programs.
6. Research and recommend new resources and services.

Qualifications
1. Good academic standing as a current undergraduate in any major
2. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
3. Positive and friendly attitude
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
6. Availability to work at a minimum of a full academic year
7. Prior office and/or customer service experience preferred

Schedule
10-15 hours/week during the academic year. Standard hours available are 8 a.m. — 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, with some evening hours required. Rate of pay to be determined based on qualifications.

Training
Spring training dates:
Friday, March 30, 3-4 p.m.
Friday, April 20, 3-4 p.m.
Required comprehensive training held August 13-17
