THE BEINECKE SCHOLARSHIP FOR ARTS, HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Criteria:
• US citizens
• Majoring in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences
• Want to go to graduate school, probably to get a Ph.D. – this is not for pre-professional school. *Not for law school*.
• About a 3.7 and above GPA
• There needs to be some financial need
o Eligible students must also have a documented history of receiving need-based financial aid as undergraduates.
• To be eligible for the Beinecke, students must be enrolled at a participating institution, be in their junior year (“Junior” means a student who plans to continue full-time undergraduate study and who expects to receive a baccalaureate degree between December 2021 and August 2022), and have the intellectual ability and academic background to pursue graduate study in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
• Each scholar receives $4,000 immediately prior to entering graduate school and an additional $30,000 while attending graduate school.
• Interested students should contact Dr. Laura Damuth, Director of National and International Fellowships, (Ldamuth1@unl.edu) if they wish to be considered UNL’s applicant for the 2020-21 academic year. The campus deadline for the scholarship is November 15, 2020. The selection process will occur in early December, with the final submission in mid-February.
