Internship Description:
The intern supports the 2030 vision of universal quality education for children with multiple disabilities and vision impairment.
Perkins International offers an intensive internship program in a flexible format. As an intern, you enjoy direct interaction with a broad range of both national and international professionals and experts, and the opportunity to make a visible contribution to a vibrant organization.
Depending on your university, academic credit can sometimes be arranged for interns, as well as different learning and training opportunities across the organization's physical and virtual campuses.
Interns will emerge from the program with a level of knowledge about multiple disabilities/vision impairment education and international development that is unparalleled among new entrants to the field.
The intern will work under the direction of the Coordinator, International Partnerships and will assist in the execution of the Partnerships Team digital strategy and will be involved in different tasks that have the goals of reaching, engaging and connecting with past/current/future colleagues who work with children with vision impairment and multiple disabilities all over the world.

All internships are focused on innovation and data in the area of disability and each internship has a specific focus as follows:

Assistant positions are generally oriented to undergraduate students.
Associate positions are oriented to graduate students and professionals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
● Create/manage digital content in creative ways.
● Act as curator and co-creator of digital content to establish and develop long-term repositories of digital assets.
● Foster community engagement and learning between members of the community.
● Measure digital impact by creating digital activity reports.
● Support the management of social media.
Competencies:
● Demonstrate excellent writing skills, and ability to effectively and simply communicate information to diverse audiences with varying levels of language and data literacy.
● Possess advanced analytical skills and the ability to synthesize data clearly and concisely.
● Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently.
● Adaptability to different roles and responsibilities and ad hoc work
● Possess strong interpersonal skills – able to work well in a team environment.
● Possess a sense of curiosity and creativity.
● Strong interpersonal skills to be a member of the team.
● Possess exceptional organizational skills and project management.
● Be fluent in English. Fluency in other languages like Spanish, Arabic, Chinese and Hindi are definitely a plus.
