Each newsletter I will be sharing tips, campus resources, and skills that can help you personally, academically, and professionally. This newsletter’s highlight is Success Workshops offered by the Center for Academic Success and Transition (CAST)!
Did you know that CAST offers Success Workshops every week? Check out their upcoming workshops:
-Reading strategies (September 8th)
-Note taking strategies (September 15th)
-Creating motivation to prevent procrastination (September 22nd)
-Test preparation (September 29th).
There are also workshops specifically for international students! If you are an international student, be sure to check out these upcoming workshops:

All workshops are in Love Library South 221 from 5:00-6:00pm.
Can’t make it to one of the workshops but still want to talk more about these topics, building a study schedule, or academic success in general, you can set up an appointment with a CAST Success Coach through MyPLAN! Students sometimes have negative impressions of success coaching-- Attending a workshop/meeting with a Success Coach does NOT mean that you are not successful, that you are failing, or that you are not capable. Our most successful students are the students that get help, create a plan, and take steps to build on their academic skills!

ADVISING UPDATE
-This Friday is the last day you can withdraw from a full semester class and receive 50% refund. Next Friday (9/17) will be the last day to withdraw from a full semester class and receive 25% refund.
-New students (first year and transfer), don’t forget to schedule an appointment with me sometime this month for your required advising check-in!
-Please cancel your appointment in MyPLAN or let me know as soon as you know you are unable to make your appointment time—other students may be trying to meet with me and would appreciate signing up during that time.
-My drop-in hours this semester are Wednesday afternoons (1:00pm-3:00pm) and Friday mornings (10:00am-12:00pm) via Zoom only. If you have a quick question, please use drop-ins instead of emailing or scheduling an appointment! IMPORTANT DATES
*September 6: Labor Day (UNL offices closed)
*September 10: Last day to withdraw from a full semester course and receive 50% refund
*September 12: Last day to submit tuition and fees payment without penalty
*September 17: Last day to withdraw from a full semester course and receive 25% refund
*September 17: Final day to apply for December graduation
*October 15: Last day to change a full semester course registration to or from “Pass/No Pass”
