HELPFUL HIGHLIGHT

Each newsletter I will be sharing tips, campus resources, and skills that can help you personally, academically, and professionally. This newsletter’s highlight is communication with faculty!

If you haven’t already, introduce yourself to your instructors! They are experts in their areas and great resources! When you talk with your instructors, you might find out about exciting opportunities like events and getting involved in research.

It’s also important that you communicate with your instructors when you run into challenges. If you must miss a class because you’re sick or have a family emergency, try to let them know ahead of time. If you’re having trouble understanding a topic in class, reach out to them and ask if you can talk with them more about that topic. It’s much easier to get ahead of potential issues, then try to make things up at the middle or end of the semester.

Faculty are here because they want to share their passion with you and they care about your success!
