
Overview
SGIS students have an exciting chance to intern at Senshu University Matsudo Junior High School, located in Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo, where English-speaking interns are invited to support immersive, intensive English-language programs. No Japanese language skills are required!
What You’ll Do
>>Assist with conversation classes, extracurricular clubs, student newspaper, cultural presentations, and school festivals
>>Share elements of your own culture while supporting classroom activities
>>Work up to 30 hours per week while maintaining full-time enrollment at UNL
Living & Logistics
>>The school assists with a Cultural Activities Visa
>>Round-trip airfare is reimbursed (in yen upon arrival)
>>You’ll stay in a fully furnished, single-occupancy apartment, with rent and utilities covered
Location Features
>>Apartments located a short walk from both the school (15 minutes) and a grocery store (10 minutes)
>>Access to local shops, a public park, and convenient train links to central Tokyo (approx. 30 minutes)
Cultural Immersion
>>Expand your experience beyond teaching by:
>>Joining school clubs like karate, calligraphy, tea ceremony, and more
>>Observing Japanese class structures
>>Participating in English–Japanese language exchanges
>>Taking cultural or site-based trips—think Kyoto, Mt. Fuji, kabuki performances, etc.
