Scholarship to Study in Japan

The Bridging Scholarship offers U.S. undergraduate students the opportunity to study abroad in Japan for a semester or full academic year with financial support. Open to all majors, the scholarship does not require prior Japanese language study and supports credit-bearing programs in Japan.

Awardees receive a $2,500 stipend for a semester or $4,500 for an academic year, which can be used toward tuition, travel, or living expenses. Each year, approximately 70–100 students are selected nationwide and join a cohort designed to foster global citizenship and long-term connections to Japan.

Application deadline: March 15, 2026
