New Course: COMM 465: Communication and Social Identity

New section of COMM 465: Communication and Social Identity (Spring 2018)
Monday 1:30-4:20
This course can count for Theme: Identity, Culture & Society
Intergroup dialogue is a communication process designed to foster constructive engagement of individuals across cultural and social divides. As our society is experiencing an increase in social polarization (Pew Research Center, 2014), constructive dialogue is necessary to address important social issues across these divides. In this special section of the course, students draw from a theoretical foundation on intergroup communication as a basis for engaging in and facilitating intergroup dialogue. The semester project will consist of designing, facilitating and evaluating intergroup dialogue sessions on campus or in the local community.

Enrollment by permission and limited. Please email Dr. Jordan Soliz atjsoliz2@unl.edu for questions or permission to enroll.
