Favorite book and why: A Work in Progress by Connor Franta because the style of writing is done in a beautiful way.

Favorite movie and why: I don’t know if I have a favorite movie, but I do like The Lion King because it taught me about the circle of life at a young age and has a great soundtrack.

Why Global Studies?
I chose Global Studies because it seemed like a holistic program that would teach me how to become a global citizen through the opportunities that the major provides. My favorite class I have taken as a Global Studies major would be Geography of Africa because I was able to learn about the history of sub-Saharan Africa more in-depth. As for new Global Studies students, I recommend participating in the events mentioned in the weekly newsletters that sound appealing to you as a way to learn outside of the classroom. Who knows, you might learn something really interesting from it!

Education Abroad:
I am enjoying studying abroad in Cape Town because it is giving me the ability to learn and grow in a much different setting compared to Lincoln. I have been able to meet many local people who have educated me on the socio-political environment of South Africa as well as experience a new city.

Post-Graduation Plans:
My goal is to continue my education and go to graduate school, hopefully studying Community Planning or Urban Design. Also, I hope to have an internship or volunteer abroad either before graduation or soon after.
