Mission
The Nebraska Civic Engagement Table is a nonpartisan organization whose mission is to strengthen the collective impact of, and collaboration between, nonprofit 501c3 community and advocacy organizations that empower the rising electorate in our state.

Goal
Our goal is to build an electorate representative of all Nebraskans, where everyone is able to participate in the democratic process and members of the rising electorate have their voices heard in the policymaking decisions that affect their lives. We will accomplish this goal by creating a culture of civic engagement in Nebraska, and by strengthening the nonprofit community through collaboration, training, and leadership development.

Job Summary
The Nebraska Civic Engagement Table (“the Table”) seeks candidates for their Spring 2020 internship program. This internship program is open to students, recent graduates or any person seeking experience in field organizing and/or communications work as it relates to civic engagement, advocacy, public policy and nonprofit leadership.

Successful candidates will gain experience primarily in field organizing, managing and participating in activities like: volunteer recruitment, canvassing, phone banking, predictive scoring, advanced targeting, and post-election assessment. Interns will provide support to both the Table and its nonprofit members who are engaged in Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) efforts and will gain exposure to communication activities as related to GOTV and field organizing. Voter registration activities and trainings will be much of this internship’s responsibilities.

Preferred skills/abilities:
Candidates should have an interest in nonprofit advocacy and/or civic engagement, have basic computer skills, and be adaptable, enthusiastic, and enjoy working with the public. Successful candidates will also exhibit enthusiasm for creating meaningful change in Nebraska. Successful candidates must also be skilled in time management, meet deadlines, be willing to take initiative, detail-oriented, and organized. Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.

Required Hours:
Part-time with a minimum of 12 hours/week. This position will require evening and weekend availability. The Table will be flexible with the intern’s schedule.
This grant funded position provides a $500 monthly stipend, paid bimonthly for a total of $3,000.
