Cheri Huisenga, Finance Specialist with the Natural Resources Business Center, received the SNR Staff Recognition Award for Spring 2023.

Some of the comments from her nominators included:

"Cheri is very responsive, yet thorough and careful. Business offices have had staffing issues post-covid, yet Cheri has remained dedicated, responsive, and positive throughout, not an easy task. Many communications are currently delayed as folks struggle to make up for staffing shortages, but Cheri has remained highly responsive, addressing items even if they fall out of her specific purview. Her work is timely and accurate."

"Cheri gets things done, even if requests are outside her specific expertise. Such requests are always addressed even if that means linking to other experts and she is consistent with following-up."

"Cheri shows the motivation to get tasks accomplished."

"Cheri is very proactive, taking actions before deadlines and providing reminders if the particular responsibility needs to be addressed by others."

"Cheri is always willing to help and to engage. She is there for faculty, staff, and students. Post-covid, many aspects of University functions are a challenge due to staffing issues, but Cheri is consistently available."

The SNR Staff Recognition Award is given twice a year by the SNR Staff Advisory and Professional Development Committee (SAPDC). Selection is based entirely on
nominations received. The committee does not seek additional information or use personal experience in evaluating
nominees to prevent selection bias. Nominations forms are rated based upon the following criteria:

-- Demonstrates initiative within the functions of their position.

The recipient receives a plaque and $350 stipend.
