What is your background before coming to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?
I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and went to Millard North High School.
What is your position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?
I am the project manager and producer for Platte Basin Timelapse (PBT). Founded in 2011, PBT is a conservation storytelling project using timelapse photography and multimedia to explore watersheds. The PBT team is made up of multi-talented professionals who tell stories, create films, give presentations, host events, teach classes and conduct research.

What drew you to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?
It was close to home, and I was interested in gaining an education from the School of Natural Resources so I could pursue a career in conservation.
What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?
Being able to collaborate on a multitude of diverse conservation projects and to provide photography, filmmaking, and storytelling expertise to researchers and projects at the University. I also co-created the class NRES 260: Introduction to Conservation Photography at the University of Nebraska, which has been a wonderful thing to give science and natural resource students the opportunity to learn conservation photography and storytelling at a college level.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement has been being part of PBT for a decade and playing a key role in building the team to where it is today. Working alongside the most passionate and hardworking individuals I know has been an incredible experience, and I am extremely grateful for it.
Outside of work, my greatest personal achievement is meeting my husband and building a life together in Colorado with our two cats and six chickens.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
Oh, I am not sure, I am a pretty open book. I think a lot of people don’t know that my ears are two extremely different sizes.
What is your life like outside of work?
“One final paragraph of advice: do not burn yourselves out. Be as I am - a reluctant enthusiast....a part-time crusader, a half-hearted fanatic. Save the other half of yourselves and your lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it. While you can. While it’s still here.” ― Edward Abbey
I strive to live by these words and cherish the time I spend in nature alone or with friends, whether snowboarding, backpacking, trail running, or gardening.
