The 'Caring for Clinton' donations have been delivered to Clinton Elementary School. There were 8 huge bags stuffed with clothing for the students. Over 50 pairs of knitted mittens and dozens of knitted hats from SNR Friends Anne Mulligan and Marilyn Fenton were included. Monetary donations equaled over $790 in cash, checked and online.
Linda Kern, Care Coordinator at Clinton, thanked SNR. "On behalf of the Clinton students and families, thank you all so much for your generous donations of clothing and coats, as well as, monetary donations. During this time of year we so appreciate coats, hats, gloves and winter clothing. Here's wishing your a wonderful holiday season with family and friends -- many blessings in the coming year."
This is the 18th year in a row that SNR has partnered with the Clinton Elementary School Comets.
The supplies we collect help provide warm coats and clothes, as well as basic toiletries, to the nearly 500 children who attend school there. Ninety-five percent of those students qualify for free- or reduced-price lunches, and a higher percentage of the families’ whose students attend there live in poverty than much of Lincoln, according to the school’s family care coordinator.
